Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme

The Exposure draft Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme Bill 2009 (CPRS Bill), released on 10 March, calls for comments by 14th April 2009. There are three particularly significant issues on which liable parties may wish to comment. The draft legislation: (a) introduces more uncertainty over carbon prices (b) may oblige liable entities to obtain Australian financial services licences and (c) provides no statutory relief for carbon pass-through costs.
