Expanded Renewable Energy Targets

A draft bill to increase the renewable energy target from 5% to 20% by 2020 was released on 19 December 2008. This will increase industry wide renewable energy certificate costs (which are incorporated into electricity charges) from $532 million in 2010 to $2.83 billion in 2020.
