Johnson Winter & Slattery has, once again, established itself as a 'firm to watch' after it ranked 7th out of Australian firms in Thompson Financials' 2006 "announced" deals league table.
The firm's involvement in representing the largest stakeholder in connection with Airline Partners Australia's $11.1 billion private consortium takeover offer for Qantas Airlines Limited was a major deal announced in December 2006.
If successful, the transaction will become the biggest private equity deal in Australian history, with JWS clients, Allco Equity Partners and Allco Finance Group becoming the major shareholders among the consortium with a combined economic interest of 35.2 per cent.
