| New Restrictions on Golden Handshakes |

Restrictions on termination payments and benefits provided to outgoing directors and other senior executives of companies will increase dramatically, if the amendments to the Corporations Act 2001 (Act), released on 5 May 2009, are enacted. The exposure draft of the Corporations Amendment (Improving Accountability on Termination Payments) Bill 2009 and accompanying regulations, will, if passed, effect the changes to the Act which the Government announced in March 2009.
