Our Projects and Construction group comprises experienced senior lawyers with the diverse skills necessary to drive any major infrastructure or construction project to a successful conclusion.
The strength of our team is its ability to provide legal services in relation to every aspect of major projects, including:
- project planning, structuring and development, including tendering and risk management;
- the preparation, negotiation and administration of all types of project documents;
- advice on regulatory approvals and site issues;
- debt or equity financing;
- dispute resolution, including litigation, arbitration, mediation, regulatory investigations and Government inquiries; and
- advice on all other legal issues encountered in major projects, such as foreign investment, competition, native title, cultural heritage and third party access to infrastructure facilities.
Members of our Projects and Construction team have experience in a diverse range of projects, including:
- gas transmission pipelines, gas storage and processing facilities and offshore structures and floating facilities for oil and gas projects;
- power stations and cogeneration facilities, electricity transmission assets, wind farms and geothermal and bio-mass projects;
- mining projects, including iron ore projects and coal mines;
- water treatment plants, desalination plants and water and waste water systems,
- commercial, industrial and residential developments and subdivisions; and
- defence projects, communications networks, railways, rolling stock and public private partnerships.
Dispute resolution lawyers within the team have represented clients in litigation, domestic and international arbitration and mediation associated with major construction and infrastructure projects. They have also been involved with Government inquiries into specific projects and the construction industry generally.
